This explains how we collect, store, protect, and share your information, and with whom we share it.

By downloading and installing our App, you agree that we can:

Collect, transfer, store, disclose and use your information as described in this Policy. All information will be sent to the United States regardless of the country you live in and by downloading our App you consent to such transfer. We build our product around your privacy in mind using the best security practices to ensure the safety of your data.

 

Information We Collect

There are three basic categories of information we collect:

  • Information we get when you use our services.

Information you choose to give us.

Registration Information –

You are required to provide personal data to verify that you are the specific person you say you are.

While accessing our services (by creating an “Account”) we collect certain information for Registration Information:

  • Name;
  • Username;
  • Email address;
  • Gender identity;
  • Date of birth;
  • Sexual preference;
  • Photographs;
  • Location; and
  • Friend lists for social media accounts

Registration Name and Age and social media usernames can possibly be shown and visible on your pubic profile, seen by others in the MOXI community

Information we get when you use our services.

Geolocation Information

If you give us permission, we can collect your location information about your longitude and latitude and may save your device’s coordinates to offer certain features to you.  If you decline permission for us to collect your geolocation, we will not collect it

If you have enabled location services, but wish to turn it off, you can do so by the following methods:

  1. iPhone app — settings, privacy, location services, Moxi
  2. Android — profile, privacy, off

Usage and Device

Our main goal is to consistently improve our product. Additionally,  we may use your info to help our community with a better experience. Offer you our services and new features; updating you with new information about the App updates and feature offerings and adjacent products we launch. Delivering relevant offers and ads and tailored advertising content delivered to you. Applying analytics about how you use and interact with the App, Analysis of app behavior to improve our services. Analyze your profile to recommend relevant and meaningful connections. If there are issues between you and other Users, we use your information for in depth investigation To help fight fraud and or other illegal or unauthorized activities. To investigate fraud, protect our legal rights, and to enforce our Terms & Conditions

Links

We may keep track of how you interact with links available on Moxi including third party services and clients by redirecting clicks or through other means. We may share aggregate click statistics such as how many times a particular link was clicked on.

Information we receive from others

In addition to the information you provide us directly, we receive information about you from others, including:

Other Users

  • Other users may provide information about you as they use our services. For instance, we may collect information about you from other users if they contact us about you.

Social Media

  • You may be able to use your social media login (such as Facebook Login) to create and log into your Account. This allows you to share some information from your social media account with us.

 

Cookies

We may use cookies and other technologies, such as web beacons, web storage, and unique advertising identifiers, to collect information about your activity, browser, and device. We may also use these technologies to collect information when you interact with services we offer through one of our partners, such as advertising features. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually remove or reject browser cookies through the settings on your browser or device. Keep in mind, though, that removing or rejecting cookies could affect the availability and functionality of our services

Use of Information

We may use your Registration and other information to:

  • offer you our services and features; To improve our services and develop new ones
  • contact you with information about the App (e.g., updates and new offerings);
  • personalize the App and the content we deliver to you; To help you connect with other users
  • conduct research and analytics about how you use and interact with the App
  • resolve disputes between you and other Users
  • investigate fraud, protect our legal rights, and to enforce our Terms & Conditions.

Disclosure of Information

Other Users – we will share personal data with other users when you voluntarily disclose that information on the Service. For example, we will display your profile to other users when we match you with them.

Your Consent – If you consent, we may share or disclose your Registration Information, such as when you use a third party web client or application to access your Account.

Service Providers – we may share your personal data with third parties to provide you with the Service (such as analytics services or customer relationship management services). We vet all service providers before we provide them with your personal data to ensure we have appropriate contractual safeguards in place

Moderators – To monitor activity on the apps and approve content.

Law and Harm – We will cooperate with law enforcement enquiries from within or outside your country of residence where we are required to by law or to protect the vital interests of a person. This may include preserving or disclosing any of your information, including your Registration Information

Business Transfers -In the event that Moxi undergoes a business transition or change of ownership, we may be required to disclose your personal data  in relation to that transaction

Aggregated Information – We may share aggregated information with third parties that includes your personal data (but which doesn’t identify you directly) together with other information including log data for industry analysis and demographic profiling.

Cross Border Data Transfers

The sharing of personal data as explained in this Policy may involve the transfer of personal data across borders, for instance to the United States and other jurisdictions, where data protection and privacy regulations may not offer the same level of protection as in other parts of the world. As an example, where the Service allows for users to be located in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), their personal data is transferred to countries outside of the EEA. We use standard contract clauses approved by the European Commission or other suitable safeguard to permit data transfers from the EEA to other countries. Standard contractual clauses are commitments between companies transferring personal data, binding them to protect the privacy and security of your data.

Age Policy

You have to be at least 18 years of age to access Moxi. We do not permit users under the age of 18 on our platform and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you suspect that a user is under the age of 18,  we will immediately terminate the suspected account

Deleting Your Account

When you delete your account on Moxi, your profile is removed from distribution, which includes the Discover, Likes You, and Match screens. This means anyone you are matched with will no longer have access to your profile or conversation.  We delete all of your personal data from our database within 30 days of the deletion of your account, except as provided in the paragraph below, and unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (for example, for regulatory purposes).

California Residents

If you are a California resident, you can request a notice disclosing the categories of personal data about you that we have shared with third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year. Note that we do not currently share any information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. To request this notice, please submit your request to the contact information set out below. Please allow 30 days for a response. For your protection and the protection of all of our users, we may ask you to provide proof of identity before we can answer such a request.
